Anniversary of Corvette Debut

It was January 1953 that the world first met the Chevrolet Corvette.  The Motorama Corvette prototype debuted in New York to such rave reviews that Chevrolet began production on 300 1953 Corvettes.  Those first Corvettes were priced around $3500.

My Ride 2009 Best Dream Car Over $75000: Corvette ZR1

My Ride/ Autobytel named the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 their 2009 Best Dream Car Over $75,000:

Was there really any doubt? Ever since it was announced late last year – heck, since it's been rumored for more than a couple years – the coming of the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette has been widely anticipated by enthusiasts. It was worth it. Chevrolet has thrown all it has at the 2009 Corvette ZR1, and it delivers with 638 horsepower, handling that defies conventional thinking, and a ride that's actually comfortable enough that the ZR1 can be driven daily. Is any Chevy -- even a Chevy Corvette -- worth more than $100,000? This one sure as heck is.

Letter From a Purifoy Chevrolet Corvette Customer

We are always happy to hear from our customers, so we thought we would share this letter with you.  It is from a former GM executive who travelled to Colorado to purchase his new Corvette at Purifoy.

I am a retired GM executive who lives in Phoenix and I purchased my 2010 Z06 from Purifoy Chevrolet in Fort Lupton, CO. I retired from GM after 32 years of service where most of my assignments involved Engineering, Corvette's, Dealership's, and our customers. In the early 1990's, I was in charge of the Product Planning Group at Chevrolet that led the C5 Corvette customer research, design, and technical clinics. More recently I spent my last 12 years at GM assigned to GM Racing where I was the Road Racing Group Manager who led the Corvette C5 and Cadillac CTS racing efforts. I retired in 2005 following the 2004 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) season when we won every ALMS race, and finished first and second in our class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

My purchase experience was truly a pleasure throughout every step of the process. At the time I decided to buy a Z06, there weren't any 2010 models here in Phoenix. It was very frustrating. Not only did you have stock, your dealership had a good inventory which included many different colors.

The website has the best design that I have seen and, since I was from a different state, it was an important tool to help me make my decision. It shows multiple exterior and interior shots and it gave me great views of
each car of interest to me. The panning feature is very clever and helped me see each car as if I were standing in your showroom.

Jay Gross of your Sales Staff was knowledgeable of every feature and was a huge help in guiding me through the dealer installed options that I added to my new car prior to delivery. The morning that I flew in to take delivery was exciting. Buying a Z06 is an exciting experience that I've waited for years to realize. The car was fully prepped, spotlessly cleaned, and ready to go with all of my added options installed.

To say I was excited at delivery is such an understatement. Jay clearly explained every option during the delivery process so that I could hit the road at the height of my excitement with the knowledge that I needed to safely operate the vehicle until I had time to read the owners manual later that day.

The Service Department did an excellent job installing the many additional dealer options that I purchased. You don't buy a new Z06 many times during a lifetime and I had to have everything. Their workmanship is excellent and exceeds the quality of my friends cars here in the Phoenix valley.

Thank you for the tour of your store. You have a great facility. As a customer, when you're investing in a lifelong dream to own a Corvette, it is a real pleasure to experience a true Corvette Dealership. Your store is
firing on all cylinders. Keep up the great work.
